I like tattoos, but one should not disfigure his body with it. 
Unfortunately, too many people do this. Do you have a tattoo????

    You are so right. I for myself only like tattoos on people to whom it fits, like rock musicians or gangsters XD or something like this.
    I cannot understand how young beautiful girls and women disfigure their perfect plain skin with tattoos only because they seem to be kind of fashion atm. For me those photos above are really ugly tattoos. Nowadays all those "Meaningful phrase"-tattoos are everywhere but I don't think they have a meaning at all. Just as well as letters or little hearts or stars or something like this. I don't need to make a tattoo on my skin to show that I have some ideology or thought in my mind..
    Most tattoos look ugly after some time and they will never ever go away (-.-) I cannot understand this. I'm not a tattoo-fan XD

    People who want tattoos have the right to get them :/ It is not disfiguration, it is art. For thousands of years people have had tattoos and other body modifications.

    And no one can determine a "meaningful" tattoo except the person who got it done.

      I agree! Some tattoos are beautiful, some are not, but it's up to the person who has them to decide. And I wouldn't call it disfiguration either... (it's just some ink on a piece of skin that will change from good to bad with old age anyway). Lots of people put a lot of thought into it and it's like displaying your personality or an accessory, but at a skin-deep level. :)

    Ich finde Tattoos auch oft schön und habe mir auch schon überlegt mir eines stechen zu lassen. Aber ich habe mich dagegen entschieden, weil ich mir sicher bin, dass es mir nicht mein Leben lang gefallen wird.

    I don't have a tattoo. I like tattoos on other people but I don't think that I would get one for myself. I do definitely agree with you that too many people disfigure there bodies with tattoos!

    I have a tiny treble clef that swirls its tail into a heart on my inner left ankle. I thought about it for 4 years before getting it to make absolutely sure I wanted it! I don't have anything against tattoos, but I do think people get them too easily.

    I have 2 tattos, one in my wrist and another in my shoulder, it means a lot to me, it's just freedom expression and I don't regret to have it done.

    It's not about fashion or "only rockstars should get them or gangsters"... I love them and already have three; and planning my fourth. I love them, I like having them done but they are small ones because I think big ones with no meaning are useless and ugly.
    All of my tats have a meaning and they evolve as I evolve as a person.
    It is a normal thing to get tattoos. If people have them it doesn't make them bad people or crazy people, so knock it off. Get it.
    If some people get them just because it's cool... then that's stupid. All tattoos should have a meaning.

    Tattoo r overrated. It's not as bad ass as it was in the 80s. I mean everyone has one! The next best thing is getting a nose job or a boob job, which is already becoming common.

    I don't have a tattoo. I like them though, I definitely have seen some pretty ones. You just have to make sure it means something to you and that the person doing it is a professional.

    Tattooes are great, but we think it's better when they have a special meaning for you. It still kinda feels weird to have them as body decoration... Anyway Aleksandra has one little 'Redemption' on her wrist :)

    I like tattoos on other people, especially when they have a sentimental meaning behind them. However they are not really for me and if I got one I would want it hidden for job reasons so sometimes it make me think what is the point.

    I love looking at some tattoos like the simple ones but so many people get them with no meaning. To ink your skin is for life, if there's no real reason then it's not worth it

    I think that as long as the tattoo is tasteful, then it is okay to have. I don't think I'd ever get a tatt, but if i did, it would be for something very meaninguful and something I want to remember everyday for the rest of my life

    I have three tattoos, and I have to say that you have to be so certain about it, because it's for the rest of your life. It's a good way to decorate your body and remembering things that you like or love.

    Ooooh! Tattos! I don't have a tatto, but I like them sooo much! I prefer small drawings like flowers, stars, little objects, but lately I've been affected by tattoo mania even more and my dream is to tattoo all my shoulder up to my elbow with coloured floral drawings! Unfortunately too much tattoos damage skin health, right? So it will remain a dream! :(

    I like a lot of your blog, except for this post. I don't think you can generalise and say people "disfigure" their bodies with tattoos - much rather that they choose to modify them. Tarring people with the word "disfigured" about something that they spent a lot of time thinking about and a lot of money on is a bit disrespectful.

    Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm stating this as a person who has tattoos myself.

    Great job otherwise.

    I've got 2 tattoos. One of them, you can't see, even if I have a bathing suit on and the other one is on my foot and can only really be seen in the spring and summer. The foot one is incredibly meaningful to me, and I don't regret it... though the one that doesn't ever see the light of day, I only got because I was bored and I'm glad that no one really sees it!
